Print and Design Studio
Your print run,
handled by a
friendly ghost
Sad Ghost Ink Inc. runs a full-service print and design studio from Peterborough, Ontario, where every sheet is handled with care from the first proof to the final trim. Our team blends hands-on screen printing, large format production and thoughtful brand design under one roof, so your artwork, your colors and your deadlines stay in the hands of people who print every day. Whether you need a short run of apparel, a full signage program or a steady stream of promotional mail, we keep turnaround tight and color true. We proof everything twice, we count everything once and we never rush a job past the point where it can look its best. That quiet reliability is the ghost in our name, and it works harder than any machine on the floor.
- 2.4k+ runs printed
- 48h turnaround
- 400+ studios served
The Proof to Press Sequence
How a run moves from file to finished sheet
Every order passes through the same disciplined rail: artwork check, color proof, press run, trim and pack. Nothing reaches the press without a human check and an approved proof, because small mistakes are cheap to catch and expensive to print. This four step rhythm keeps short runs sharp and long runs consistent, order after order, and it is the reason our color accuracy sits at 98.7 percent across the whole studio floor.
Artwork Check
We review every file for resolution, bleed, color space, ink coverage and font embedding before it ever touches a plate. A disciplined preflight checklist catches the small problems while they are still cheap to fix, and we contact you with a clear list of changes the moment we spot a risk. Common fixes include replacing low resolution logos, extending bleeds to the trim line and flattening stray transparency, and each one takes minutes rather than days.
Color Proof
We pull a physical proof or a calibrated digital proof so the color you approve is the color we print. Ghost violet registration marks on every layer keep your screens and plates aligned to the fraction of a millimeter, and you sign off before ink touches paper. For apparel we also offer a garment sample on the exact blank, so you can check fit, fabric and hand feel before the full quantity runs.
Press Run
Skilled operators manage ink density, registration and drying across every sheet, so the first piece matches the last. We press short runs and long runs with the same attention, because a single good sheet is a happy accident and a whole run is a craft. During production we check color against the approved proof at regular intervals and we log every deviation so the record stays honest.
Trim and Pack
Finished pieces are trimmed, folded, bound and finished, then packed to survive the road. Your order ships clean, counted and ready to use, with a packing slip that matches your invoice to the last item. No surprises at the receiving dock, and no mystery boxes at your doorstep.
The Ink Library
Six press standards we prove before we print
Our ink library spans everyday solids and specialty finishes, so every order starts with a color plan we can proof and repeat. Each swatch below represents a calibrated press standard rather than a guess on the day, which is why a reorder from last season matches the original order out of the box.
Metallic and glow tiles show how a finish changes a solid: flat ink printed over a clear base keeps its body, while specialty finishes add shimmer, depth and light response for apparel, packaging and event graphics. Metallic inks reflect light like brushed metal and are a favorite for award graphics and premium labels, while glow finishes charge in daylight and hold their light well into the evening. If your design calls for a finish we have not listed, ask us, because the ink library grows faster than this strip can show.
Numbers from the Shop Floor
These are the figures behind the routine: the volume, the accuracy, the speed and the breadth of work the studio handles each week.
We believe great print comes from small details, honest proofs and steady hands, not from rushing the plate. From the first artwork check to the final trimmed sheet, your run is handled by a studio that treats every order like a signed proof and every customer like a repeat customer. When a client walks in with a crumpled sketch and a deadline, we treat that sketch with the same respect as a full brand system, because the care is what makes the sheet worth keeping.
